Riyadh-Mubasher: Kingdom Holding Co. (KHC) and its Chairman Al-Waleed bin Talal led a group of investors that invested $247.7 million in U.S.-based Lyft, the company said in a bourse statement on Thursday.
KHC and Al-Waleed together with a group of other investors invested $100 million in Lyft's capital increase.
KHC's share of this investment reached $31 million. In addition, KHC and Al-Waleed invested $147.7 million to acquire preferred shares in Lyft through the secondary market. KHC's share of this investment amounted to $73.9 million.
Accordingly, the total share of KHC from the combined investment reached $104.9 million, representing a 2.3% stake in Lyft.
KHC has used company's existing available liquidity to finance the deal.
